So You Want To Be A Writer?

So you want to be a writer? I hear it all the time, and I’m sure you have to, “I should write a book”. At some point in their lives almost everyone says this, but what stops 95% of people from doing it is that they simply don’t know how. They sit down and start to write, either on paper, computer, or some writing app, write a sentence or two and then realize they have no clue how to proceed.

So what do people do?

They stop.

They stop because they have no structure, no outline and honestly no one to help them find their way. Suddenly, that great idea, the story that wants to be told, gets lost in the ether. Your amazing story quickly becomes a product of the wandering way; a brilliant idea that stumbles in the darkness because there is no light to guide it.

Follow the light.

There is great training out there to help you become a writer and help you make your dreams of become a published author a reality. Let me say this. There are few feelings any better than the feeling of having your book published and have people read it and enjoy what they are reading.

I always dreamed about it, as we all do about many things we would like to have in our lives, but the day it happened was one of the most exciting of my life with the exception of my children being bored.

One of the excuses I hear is “I don’t have the time”. Really? If you actually sat back and looked at your time and broke it down you would find that there is plenty of dead time throughout your day. You have to learn how to block your time if you truly want to be a published author.

The good news is that you don’t have to block hours out of your schedule everyday to get your book written. I’m going to give you the secret right now: just show up! Honestly, if you will just show up, whether its 30 minutes a day, an hour, whatever works for you, if you just show up you will start to develop a writing habit and a desire to keep writing.

Think about it. The habits you have today, good and bad, weren’t created overnight, they are a product of repetition. You can do the same thing with your writing.

Everyone has a story to tell. So you want to be a writer? Then be a writer. It’s okay to struggle as long as you show up and move forward. You CAN do it. I believe the only person, on this planet, who can stop you is you.

Change your mindset, commit, and focus on what you want as a writer. If you want to be a writer and make money, I can show you how. It’s all up to you. Be the captain of your ship.
